Arrest Made After Suspected DUI Driver Flees In Palm Desert: RSO

PALM DESERT, CA — A man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, evading deputies and obstructing law enforcement following a traffic stop in Palm Desert, authorities said Monday.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Warner Trail and Mountain View just before 6:40 p.m. Friday, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez.

The driver failed to yield, abandoned the vehicle in the 76000 block of Kentucky Avenue and ran from the scene, Brito-Gonzalez said.

Deputies established a perimeter and located the suspect a short time later. He was taken into custody without further incident, Brito-Gonzalez said.

The suspect's name was not immediately released, and no additional details were available.
