PALM DESERT, CA — Two men were arrested Thursday and stand accused of a violent gang-related assault at a grocery store in Palm Springs on Sept. 1, authorities said.

Palm Springs residents Isiah Manning, 24 and Camaron Dearman, 21, were arrested Thursday after a multi-agency investigation, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.

On Sept. 1 at 11 p.m., the department was dispatched to a grocery store in the 400 block of South Sunrise Road, where officers found a victim who had been "brutally attacked" by "several suspects" inside the store, the agency said.

Police determined that the victim was approached by the suspects, who started a fight. The victim fell to the ground while the suspects continued to kick and "stomp on him." The victim was then dragged several feet through the store.

"Despite attempting to protect himself, the victim was further assaulted as he lay on the ground," police said Thursday.

"This operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, and we extend our gratitude to our partners for their support," police wrote on Facebook.
