PERRIS, CA — A car rolled down an embankment alongside Interstate 215 in Perris Friday after colliding with an RV, but the occupant escaped with minor injuries.

The RV driver pulled onto the shoulder of the corridor. No one inside was injured.
Witnesses initially indicated the driver of the Toyota was trapped, but Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived minutes later and found the victim had self-extricated, according to reports from the scene.

The motorist suffered unspecified minor injuries but declined transportation to a trauma center after the ambulance arrived, according to the fire department.
Oil and other fluids spilled onto the shoulder of the freeway during the collision, and fire crews requested a hazardous materials team to clean up the mess. No lanes were shut down.
The CHP was investigating the cause of the collision.
