Handel's Ice Cream served scoops while California Highway Patrol talk career opportunities, and community issues Wednesday.
INDIO, CA — The California Highway Patrol's Indio office are hosting an Ice Cream Social mixer Wednesday to work out community issues, explore career opportunities and enhance engagement between the agency and residents.
The mixer was planned from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at Handel's Ice Cream shop, 42211 Jackson St., according to CHP spokesperson David Torres.
"This event is a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the Department's work in Riverside County neighborhoods," Torres wrote in a statement. "The majority of contact law enforcement has with the public often happens during emergencies or emotional situations."
