City of Palm Desert First Weekend Features Art Walk, Cruise Night, and More with El Paseo

The Shops on El Paseo will host "A Miracle on El Paseo", Cruise Night, an Art Walk, and more in the upcoming weeks.

PALM DESERT, CA – El Paseo is kicking off the season, in partnership with the City of Palm Desert First Weekend. El Paseo Cruise Night and Art Walk are a few of the activities comprising this weekend of art, culture, community. The Shops on El Paseo hosts the charitable event A Miracle on El Paseo, benefiting Bighorn BAM, as well as a popular holiday 5k run.

On Friday, November 4, head to the upper parking deck of The Gardens on El Paseo to view classic and custom cars from 3 P.M. until they hit the streets at 4:30 P.M. for El Paseo Cruise Night. Art lovers can stroll the street, visiting the many art galleries during El Paseo Art Walk from 4 -7 p.m. This First Weekend event features artist receptions, exhibit openings, and more. Coda Gallery, an El Paseo gallery for 27 years, opens their retrospective exhibition featuring David Dornan, an original artist with the gallery. The Dawson Cole Fine Art exhibit, Chuck Close: Turning Heads, showcases on November 4, and runs through Sunday, November 25.

On Saturday, November 19 from 5 to 10 p.m., A Miracle on El Paseo returns to the Shops on El Paseo. A four-story Ferris wheel, carnival games, and the official lighting of the 60′ El Paseo Christmas Tree entertains kids and adults alike. Stores such as GUCCI, Bottega Veneta, St. John, Ralph Lauren and Escada will offer various in-store activities. Next, on November 24th, is the 10th Annual Fortem Financial Thanksgiving 5K benefiting Martha’s Village and Kitchen. The Thanksgiving Day 5K has evolved into a holiday tradition, and in 2015 was the most popular 5K in the Coachella Valley. Registration opens at 6:00 a.m. and the race begins at 8:00 a.m.

Venture to El Paseo to enjoy the upscale shopping experience of over 250 retailers. Among celebrated retailers are boutiques for men and women, home furnishings, and accessories from shoes and handbags to jewelry, collectibles. and a variety of exceptional restaurants.
