RivCo Authorities Believe Vandalist Responsible For 911 Outage
Indio and Cathedral City have each reported issues with their emergency lines. What to know.
COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Several police agencies reported outages with 911 emergency lines and urged residents to call backup numbers until the issue is resolved.
Police believe that the outage is a result of vandalism, where fiber lines were cut, Sgt. Healther Olsen of the Cathedral Police Department told Patch.
The Indio Police Department told emergency callers to dial 760-391-4051. In Cathedral City, residents experiencing an emergency should call 760-770-0303.

The cause of the widespread outage was not immediately known.
"Our 911 system, along with several other local agencies, is currently encountering problems," the Indio Police Department wrote on Facebook on Friday morning. "We are actively working with our service provider to restore it, though the exact timeline is currently unknown."
