Colman Domingo Slated For Palm Springs Film Festival's Spotlight Award
Bio-pic actor Colman Domingo demonstrates his impressive talents bringing to life civil rights activist Bayard Rustin in the film 'Rustin.'

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Actor Colman Domingo will receive the Spotlight Award, Actor next year at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for his performance in "Rustin," organizers announced Monday.
"In `Rustin,' Colman Domingo demonstrates his impressive talents bringing to life civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, an organizer of the 1963 March on Washington," festival chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said in a statement. "For this career defining performance, it is our honor to present the Spotlight Award, Actor to Colman Domingo."
The award will be presented to Domingo on Jan. 4, 2024, at the Palm Springs Convention Center, according to festival officials.

The Spotlight Award, Actor has previously been presented to Bryan Cranston, Brendan Fraser, and Andrew Garfield, all of whom went on to receive Academy Award nominations for Best Actor.
Domingo has worked in film, television, and theater for three decades. His credits include "If Beale Street Could Talk," "The God Committee," "Without Remorse," "Candyman," "Assassination Nation," "Lucy in the Sky," and "The Butler."

The Palm Springs International Film Festival, which begins with the Jan. 4 film awards, will continue until Jan. 15, 2024.
