Coroner IDs 3-Year-Old Indio Girl Found 'Unresponsive' Inside Car

"Unfortunately the child had passed," a police spokesperson said. "We're currently investigating the circumstances."

INDIO, CA — Authorities Wednesday identified a child who was found unresponsive in a vehicle and died outside of an Indio business last week.

Police and Cal Fire personnel responded to a business in the 46500 block of Spruce Street at about 1:40 p.m. on Sept. 14 to a report of an unresponsive child in a vehicle, Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department told City News Service.

"Unfortunately the child had passed," Guitron said. "We're currently investigating the circumstances."

The Riverside County coroner's office identified the child as 3-year-old Hanna Valenzuela of Indio.
