Coroner IDs Palm Desert 29-Year-Old As Crash Victim
The man was struck and killed in Palm Springs on Tuesday, officials say.

PALM DESERT, CA — A 29-year-old Palm Desert man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palm Springs was identified by authorities on Wednesday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Coroner's Bureau.
Raymond Olguin Jr. was fatally injured shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday near San Rafael Drive and Avenida Caballeros, according to the coroner's office. His identity was publicly released following notification of next of kin. The details of the crash are still unfolding.
Officers arrived to find Olguin in the roadway following the collision, according to the Palm Springs Police Department. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but he died at the scene.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
"Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor at this time," the department said.

Eastbound and westbound lanes on E. San Rafael Drive and N. Avenida Caballeros were temporarily closed.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
