Deadly Crash Reported In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, CA -- A woman died Saturday night after reportedly being struck by a car on Highway 111 in Palm Desert. Jamie Melissa Ziegler, 48, of El Segundo, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Palm Desert Police Department.

Officers responded to the incident around 9:30 p.m. Saturday on the 73000 block of Highway 111. The driver was not injured. Officers said it is unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

The incident is currently under investigation.
