Desert Driver Dies After Christmas Day Rollover Crash
The driver was ejected from their vehicle in Cathedral City on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — A driver died after being ejected from their vehicle in a Wednesday afternoon rollover crash in Cathedral City, authorities said.
The person was traveling southbound on Landau in a gray SUV at a high rate of speed when the driver "failed to negotiate a. turn" at Ramon Road, the Palm Springs Police Department said. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled into the desert, south of the intersection.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the SUV, was ejected during the rollover and taken to a hospital in serious condition. The person, who has not been publicly identified, died of their injuries at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, officials said.

The crash is still under investigation and police haven't determined if drugs or alcohol were factors.
