Emergency Responders Near Palm Springs Airport? Here's What's Happening

If you see police and fire emergency vehicles at the Palm Springs International Airport on Thursday, this is why.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — If you live or work close to the Palm Springs International Airport, do not be alarmed if you see police, fire, and other emergency vehicles arrive near the location of 3400 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way starting Thursday night.

A large-scale law enforcement training exercise was scheduled to take place on Thursday night at Palm Springs International Airport.

Officials say that flight operations were not expected to be affected by the police activity at the airport.

The exercise is expected to take place from late Thursday into early Friday morning, according to reports. Exact time frames were not released, nor was the amount of emergency vehicle response.

"The annual training brings together multiple law enforcement agencies to enhance emergency preparedness and interagency coordination," according to a statement from the airport. "Nearby residents and businesses may hear overnight activity or noise from the airport area during the exercise."
