Excessive Heat Warning Issued For Desert, Pass Area

PALM DESERT, CA — The mercury will rise again in the Coachella Valley and part of the Pass Area near Banning, the National Weather Service warned.
An excessive heat warning is effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Monday, with daytime highs 5 to 10 degrees above average, according to the agency.
"Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures of 110 to 115 expected," the NWS reported. "Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances," the agency continued.
Unlike weeks past, the hot weather is arriving without humidity and wind.
