Wild Pregame Brawl Ropes RivCo High School Football Player Into Stands: Video
Two fights prior to a football game, one involving a player, prompted a police investigation.

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA— A brawl that broke out last Friday before a Desert Hot Springs football game has led to a police investigation. The fight broke out as members of the Desert Hot Springs High School's football team, who were scheduled to play against Coachella Valley, were being introduced.
After the first fight was broken up, a second fight began involving Desert Hot Springs receiver Joziaha Winfrey began.
Video of the scrap shows Winfrey, in uniform, swinging and being swung at as a voice in the background orders the players on the field back into the locker room. At least one man's nose was bleeding profusely in the stands.

Desert Hot Springs police detained, but then released, Winfrey, the newspaper reported.
Visiting Coachella Valley High School picked up the victory after the Desert Hot Springs principal forfeited the game.

No arrests have been made but the investigation was still ongoing. It was unclear if the two fights were connected.
