PALM SPRINGS, CA — Riverside County firefighters Saturday rescued two people and a dog from a vehicle caught in floodwater in the Thousand Palms area near Palm Springs.

The rescue was reported at 5 p.m. Saturday at Barcelona Drive and Boca Chica Trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The slow-moving floodwater rose to the wheel wells at a height of about 1 foot, fire officials said.
