Fireworks Sting In Cathedral City Nets 5 Arrests

Police said they received more than 65 calls Friday and Saturday reporting illegal fireworks throughout the city.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Five people were facing charges Tuesday after being arrested during a fireworks enforcement operation over the weekend in Cathedral City.

Police said they received more than 65 calls Friday and Saturday reporting illegal fireworks throughout the city.

Five people were arrested for alleged possession of fireworks, and two others were cited for disruptive activities, police said.

An unspecified amount of fireworks were seized. Police did not release the identities of those arrested.
