Friends Of The Desert Mountains To Host Documentary Screening, 'Koyaanisqatsi'
Organizers said the 86-minute non-dialogue film shows visuals of America's nature juxtaposed against urban environments.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Friends of the Desert Mountains will host a documentary screening fundraiser next week in Palm Springs to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the National Conservation Lands, with proceeds benefiting the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.
The non-profit will host the screening of Godfrey Reggio's "Koyaanisqatsi" at 7:30 p.m. on June 27 at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, 2300 E. Baristo Road.
"Friends recognizes that people connect to the land in their own way — and that almost everyone wants to help protect out public lands," said Karin Jaffie, marketing associate for Friends of the Desert Mountains. "The benefit showing will have direct impact on the monument's resources and improving visitor experiences so they too will love the desert and want to care for it."
