Fundraiser Set For CA Woman Killed In Colorado River Boat Crash

Two people remained missing Tuesday after two boats collided over the weekend.

MOABI REGIONAL PARK, CA -- A fundraiser was underway Tuesday for the family of a California woman killed in a Colorado River boating crash over the weekend. As of Tuesday, two people remained missing in the deadly incident that involved two boats.

Chrisi Lewis, 51, of Visalia, was described as an "amazing mother, friend, daughter, coworker, and many other things to the people around her."

"As many of you know the Lewis family was involved in a horrendous boat crash on September 1st on the Colorado River," the GoFundMe page said. "Unfortunately, Chrisi Lewis lost her life along with 3 others. Thankfully, the rest of her family is safe but has a long road ahead of them."

Loved ones asked the public to help raise money to help Lewis's three children "who will need help with college educations and the cost of burial service and whatever else they may need the money for."

Mohave County Sheriff's Office said a Hallet boat, occupied by 10 people, was heading northbound in the Colorado River when it collided with a Sleek Craft boat, occupied by six people on Saturday night. Several people were pulled from the water with nine people transported to nearby hospitals, authorities said. Lewis's body was found Monday.
