Hallmark Channel Heavyweight Getting Star In Palm Springs
The Canadian native, who now lives in Palm Springs, has written or directed 34 movies for the family-oriented channel.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — Ron Oliver, who's written or directed 34 movies for the Hallmark Channel, will receive the 479th star on the Walk of the Stars, the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. on May 23 at 222 S. Palm Canyon Drive.
A native of Canada who now lives in Palm Springs, Oliver is a two-time Directors Guild of America nominee, and he will be honored with a star in the entertainment category.

His written work has been featured in the New Yorker, the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal, and he co-wrote the 2022 Netflix hit "Falling for Christmas" starring Lindsay Lohan.
Oliver is active in the Palm Springs community, and has helped raise funds for the city's animal shelter, Vista Del Monte Elementary School and other local causes.
