Harley Rider Killed In I-10 Coachella Valley Crash ID'd As OC Resident
The 51-year-old Orange County man died at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage within an hour of the crash, according to authorities.
THOUSAND PALMS, CA — A Harley-Davidson rider who died following a crash Thursday on Interstate 10 in Thousand Palms was identified.
Adolph Madrid, 51, of Santa Ana died at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage within an hour of the crash, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
The 9:31 a.m. wreck involved Madrid's 2021 bike and another Harley-Davidson on eastbound Interstate 10, just west of Monterey Avenue.

Madrid was driving the Harley with a 49-year-old woman on the back when he crashed into the center median guardrail for reasons still under investigation, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Both were ejected from the bike.

The pair was traveling with a group of motorcycles, so the crash caused another, according to the CHP.
"A 2012 Harley-Davidson, occupied by two, was following behind and as a result of the initial crash, the 2012 Harley-Davison lost control and overturned onto the roadway," the CHP reported.
The 56-year-old man who was piloting the 2012 bike was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries and his passenger, a 46-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was not hospitalized, according to the CHP.
While Madrid did not survive his injuries, his passenger was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where she was being treated for major injuries, the CHP reported.
An update on the crash survivors was not available Friday morning.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 were closed for about 20 minutes Thursday while CHP officers investigated the collision, according to CHP.
It was not immediately known whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
