Helicopter Airlifts 'Seriously Injured' Coachella Valley Crash Victim

Two people were injured in a Thermal car crash near Desert Mirage High School Wednesday morning.

THERMAL, CA — Two people, one with serious injuries and one with minor injuries, were taken to a trauma center Wednesday following a traffic collision in Thermal.

Firefighters responded to the intersection of Tyler Street and 66th Avenue, near Desert Mirage High School and Las Palmitas Elementary School at around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday. Two people were hurt in the two-vehicle collision, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Officials said the victim who sustained serious injuries was taken to the trauma center via air ambulance and a victim who sustained minor injuries was taken by ground ambulance.
