Hospitality Gala This Weekend In Palm Desert, Cal State San Bernardino
The "Spirit of Polynesia"-themed gala will feature tiki cocktails and mocktails and native dishes from multiple continents.
PALM DESERT, CA —Cal State San Bernardino's Palm Desert campus will host a special gala Saturday in recognition of its hospitality program. Tickets are still available from the link below.
The "Spirit of Polynesia"-themed gala will feature tiki cocktails and mocktails and native dishes from multiple continents, according to college officials. It will also provide program updates, formally recognize sponsors and donors, and introduce program students.
"The gala is a component of the hospitality management program's curriculum and a learning activity in the Meetings and Event Planning course," hospitality management program director Joe Tormey said in a statement released in January. "Students assist in planning a large-scale event that generates financial support for their education, study abroad opportunities and the marketing of the program."

The program serves the Coachella Valley's $8.7 billion hospitality and tourism industry. Per CSUSB's statement, the industry has a "consistent demand" for managerial position applicants, a key draw for current and prospective students from the Coachella Valley and elsewhere.
Proceeds from the event will support the university's program.

"The gala affords students the opportunity for experiential learning and serves as a platform to celebrate their accomplishments and acknowledge the outstanding support from sponsors, donors and the community," Tormey added.
Ticket prices start at $150. Other information about the event can be found at www.csusb.edu
