House Fire Erupts In La Quinta, Residents Flee

LA QUINTA, CA — Smoke and flames erupted from a La Quinta home Friday morning that sent residents fleeing from the structure, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department shared.

The blaze was reported shortly after 9 a.m. Friday in the 50300 block of Spyglass Hill Road in La Quinta, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

Crews managed to quickly contain the fire, bringing it under control around 9:35 a.m., they said.

Southern California Gas, Imperial Irrigation District and other agencies were called in to assist, authorities said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation. It was not immediately known if the Red Cross was called for assistance for the fire victims.
