Howl-O-Ween Helps Living Desert Draw Record-Setting 23,000 Visits for October

Attendance for The Living Desert's recent Howl-O-Ween weekend helped the accredited zoo and gardens draw a record-setting 23,000 visits for the month of October, officials at the Palm Desert attraction said.

Howl-O-Ween events on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 drew nearly 5,000 guests to the park for the "daytime family-friendly safe and spooky holiday extravaganza," a Living Desert rep said Thursday.

"It's exhilarating to begin the season with record breaking attendance," Stacey Johnson, President & CEO of The Living Desert, said in an announcement Oct. 31. "We're absolutely thrilled that more and more people are discovering what a fantastic and fun zoo is here in the desert for all to enjoy."

Upcoming special events at The Living Desert include the Jazzoo Concert Series, which returns Dec. 8 with the Ellington Brass Encounters with Art Baron.

"Scheduled over six Sunday afternoons through March 23rd, the series salutes the swinging styles of jazz masters from boogie to bebop and the blues. Shows are at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.," a Living Desert rep said.
