Human Skeletal Remains Found In Palm Springs Gorge

Investigators are working to identify the deceased and determine the cause of death.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — An investigation was continuing Monday in Palm Springs after human skeletal remains were found.

Just after 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 24, Palm Springs police officers were called to a report of human skeletal remains in a gorge near Southridge Drive and Araby Trail.

The identity of the deceased has not been determined, and it is unclear how long the remains were at the location, according to police.

Palm Springs Police Department investigators, in collaboration with the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau, are working to make an identification and determine the cause of death.

"The investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available," police said.
