I-10 Semi-Truck Rollover Crash Snarls Traffic

An early morning big rig rollover crash snarled eastbound I-10 traffic for holiday drivers.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A big rig rolled over Wednesday on eastbound Interstate 10 in Blythe, causing the No. 2 lane to be temporarily closed.

The incident was reported shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday east of Mesa Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said crews encountered a big rig partially on its side against a K-rail, and the driver was helped out of the truck and declined further treatment from paramedics at the scene.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the accident, according to Officer Jack Barron of the California Highway Patrol.

The No. 2 lane was expected to be closed for an undetermined time for cleanup.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
