INDIO, CA — Authorities continued their investigation Tuesday into the death of a man who was killed after being struck by a train in Coachella.

Shortly after 6:15 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a man struck by a train Monday in the area of Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 49, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
