THERMAL, CA — Authorities Monday identified a 25-year-old man who died in a single-vehicle rollover in Thermal.

The victim, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was Jose Hurtado Comunidad of Indio, according to the Riverside County coroner's office.

At 3:53 p.m. Sunday, a 2003 GMC Sierra was driving northbound on Fillmore Street before driving off the west road edge, California Highway Patrol public information officer David Torres told City News Service.

"The GMC traveled off the west road edge of Fillmore Street, and onto open farmland where it overturned multiple times," Torres said. "The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and was fully ejected."

Alcohol was not a suspected factor in the crash, Torres said.
