Military Planes, Emergency Responders Gather Near Colorado River, AZ Border: This Is Why
A U.S. Marine Corps military training exercise was planned near the Arizona-California border.
BLYTHE, CA — Authorities planned a military training exercise Friday in the unincorporated area of Blythe, south of I-10 and west of the California and Arizona border, officials say.
The exercise was scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. on Friday to 6 p.m. on Saturday in the 19000 block of S. DeFrain Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Blythe Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, Colorado River Station's Special Enforcement Team, and California Highway Patrol, will assist the U.S. Marine Corps with the training exercise.

The event will require several road closures in the area and authorities advise nearby residents to cooperate with the road closures.
