Monsoons Hit Parts Of Riverside County, Thunderstorms Forecast
The monsoonal moisture has raised humidity levels across the county.
COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Amid scorching temperatures, monsoons are expected to bring scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy rain over the mountains and deserts Monday, followed by more isolated showers and thunderstorms over the mountains on Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported.
The erratic weather is expected to arrive after 11 a.m.
Near Palm Springs, the high temperature will reach 108 with light and variable wind becoming south 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph, according to the NWS.

No travel advisories were issued.
The humid conditions were being felt as far west as Southwest Riverside County. As of 9:15 a.m. Monday, the NWS reported Temecula's humidity level at 88%.

Conditions are expected to dry out midweek, though moisture is expected to increase again late in the week, bringing more scattered thunderstorms, mainly over the weekend, according to the NWS.
Temperatures will be near or slightly above seasonal normals early this week, but hotter weather will return countywide the second half of the week, possibly reaching excessive levels in some inland areas, the NWS reported.
