Nancy Sinatra Scheduled At Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade

Former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum and Turner Classic Movies host Dave Karger will lead the parade as celebrity grand marshals.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Nancy Sinatra will make an appearance at the Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade Dec. 7, city officials announced Tuesday.

The singer, actress and daughter of onetime Palm Springs resident Frank Sinatra, who lives in the Coachella Valley, is best known for the 1965 hit "These Boots are Made for Walkin'."

Sinatra, billed as a "special guest star" at the parade, is also a supporter of the Plaza Theatre's restoration project in downtown.

"Nancy and her family have been incredible supporters of our city," Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein said in a statement. "She is truly a part of the magic that makes Palm Springs like no place else."

The procession will start down Palm Canyon Drive at 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Style expert Kelly Golightly, Hockey Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr and fellow Coachella Valley Firebirds broadcaster Gino LaMont will be community grand marshals. "Twin Peaks" and "Riverdale" actress Madchen Amick will serve as the honorary grand marshal.

Journalist Hank Plante will be the event's emcee, introducing four special performers on the day.

The parade will be broadcast on NBC Palm Springs beginning at 6 p.m.
