390 Illegal Marijuana Plants Discovered In Coachella Valley

Members of the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force ​confiscated the marijuana plants and $1,200 dollars from a home.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA -- Deputies on Saturday discovered nearly 400 marijuana plants while serving a search warrant in Palm Springs. Members of the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force confiscated the marijuana plants and $1,200 dollars from a home on the 1500 block of Amelia Way in Palm Springs, where the drug grew, officials said.

Officials also discovered the home had illegally bypassed the power resulting in the theft of electricity as well. Southern California Edison responded to the location due to the illegal setup and existing hazards.

Yong Li, 40, of Los Angeles, was arrested at the home and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for illegal marijuana cultivation.
