Private Desert Island Country Club In Rancho Mirage Opens To Public
Visitors to the links can enjoy a club experience, chilled towels, umbrellaed carts, insulated water bottles and more.
RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — Desert Island Country Club opened its formerly private links to the public for the summer Tuesday and also introduced its new dining destinations.
"We want to take full advantage of the property's unique heritage while introducing it to a new generation with all the modern amenities," Desert Island owner Miguel Nelson said. "We believe the public will be pleasantly surprised at what they discover right here in their own backyard."
The club said those who visit the 6,715-yard golf course can enjoy "an authentic club experience" with chilled towels, umbrellaed carts, insulated water bottles and beverage service.

A group of four players can book a 9-hole round for $39 or an 18-hole- round for $59. Visitors can book their tee time at di71.com/golf-on-desert-island.
Inside the Clubhouse, visitors can find three dining areas, a grand ballroom, a veranda bar and a terrace with views of the surrounding desert, lake and mountains. According to the country club, the dining areas host guest chefs, mixologists and seasonal pop-up menus regularly.

The club's latest dining destination, The Penney, offers public, private, outdoor and inside environments. It also offers the sunken Horseshoe Bar with a terrace for friends to gather and the Founder's Room for private occasions.
