The Girlfriend Factor, a non-profit organization conceived in Palm Desert to provide renewable educational grants for adult women, is now accepting applications for their Go Girl! Grants.
"Applicants must be 25 years or older and live and go to school in the Coachella Valley," an announcement for the non-profit states. "Additionally they need to have a chosen educational path which will lead them to employment."
The Girlfriend Factor was conceived in Palm Desert in the summer of 2005 by Joan Busick and Michele Moore, long time friends and business associates, according to the non-profit's 'About Us' page.
"When women have the encouragement & support of their girlfriends, they can accomplish anything they set their minds to," the page states.
Applications for Go Girl! Grants must be submitted by July 15 for the 2013 fall semester. For more info on requirements and how to apply go to www.thegirlfriendfactor.org.
