Odor Prompts HazMat House Call
A La Quinta residence draws attention after an odd smell is noticed.

An odor believed to have come from a La Quinta home prompted a call for the county's Hazardous Materials team, but no hazard was found, a fire spokesman said Sunday.
Firefighters were dispatched Saturday, 6:37 p.m., to the home in the 51700 block of Avenida Navarro.

HazMat members entered the home but could not find any unusual odor, Riverside County Fire Department spokesman Mark Annas said.
One person was taken to a hospital for evaluation, but no injuries were reported, Annas said. It was not disclosed whether the person lived at the home.

Firefighters ventilated the Avenida Navarro home as a precaution, Annas said.
