One Killed in Rollover Thermal Crash

THERMAL, CA — A man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on a rain-slick intersection in Thermal, authorities said Tuesday.

Juan Carlos Vega-Alvarado, 26, of Thermal, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 10:52 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Avenue 66 and Polk Street, according to the county coroner's office.

County firefighters extricated Vega-Alvarado from the wreckage, and was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:15 p.m.

The cause of the crash was under investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
