Palm Desert Burglary Suspect Arrested In Hemet

The search warrant stemmed from a burglary to a business in Palm Desert in early June, according to the sheriff's department.

PALM DESERT, CA — A 35-year-old Hemet man has been arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a business in Palm Desert, authorities said.

Steven Edward Burroughs was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of burglary, according to Sgt. Rovann Cleveland of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Cleveland said the Palm Desert station's Special Enforcement Team, Business District Team and Burglary Suppression Unit served a search warrant at around 7 a.m. Monday in the 34000 block of Lyn Avenue in Hemet.

"The search warrant stemmed from a burglary to a business in Palm Desert, on June 6, 2023," Cleveland wrote. "As a result (Burroughs) was arrested for burglary."

Burroughs was subsequently booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, according to inmate records. He was released Wednesday on a $10,000 bail bond.
