Palm Desert Home Invasion Robbery, Assault Suspect Arrested

PALM DESERT, CA — A 43-year-old man suspected of committing a home invasion robbery in Palm Desert while free on bail was arrested Wednesday.

Deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Palm Desert Station were sent at 4:59 a.m. Monday to the 73000 block of Guadalupe Avenue regarding a report of a home invasion robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, said Sgt. Daniel Milbrandt.

During the course of the investigation, deputies located the victim, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Deputies identified Carlos Quilon of Palm Desert as the suspect, but he fled before they arrived at the scene, Milbrandt said.

The department's Gang Impact Team took Quilon into custody at around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the area of Highway 111 and Oasis Street in Indio.

Quilon was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, home invasion robbery, victim intimidation and committing a felony while out on bail. His bail was set at $1 million and there are no outstanding suspects in this case.
