Palm Desert Jewelry Heist: 3 Chilean Residents Suspected In Theft
A Palm Desert victim reported the crime, and provided a description of the three suspects and their vehicle, a black Lexus.
PALM DESERT, CA — Two men and a woman from Chile suspected of stealing high-valued pieces of jewelry in Palm Desert Wednesday were arrested.
Deputies responded to the 73000 block of El Paseo around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report of the theft, said Sgt. Rovann Cleveland of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The victim was able to provide a description of the three suspects and their vehicle, a black Lexus, Cleveland said.

Deputies located the Lexus leaving the area and conducted an enforcement stop on Highway 111, Cleveland said. Two of the occupants in the vehicle fled from the vehicle but were located, according to Cleveland.
Miquel Roman, 42, Sandra Leonor Roman Penno, 23, and Marjorie Estephania Rojas Alegria, 33, all residents of Chile, were arrested and booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, Cleveland said.

There were no injuries in the foot pursuit.
