Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Unveils Summer Hours, Events
From guided nature walks to natural history programs, here's what you need to know about the summer season for the aerial tramway.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — Memorial Day weekend is set to mark the beginning of the summer season for the world's largest rotating car, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway officials said Wednesday.
Beginning May 23 and running through Sept. 1, summer hours will be in place every Friday and Saturday. On those days, the last tram up departs at 9 p.m. and the last tram down at 10:30 p.m.
Dining options will also extend hours for the season: Peaks Restaurant will seat guests until 8:30 p.m., and Pines Café will remain open until 9:30 p.m.
Holiday hours will be observed during Memorial Day Weekend. On Sunday, May 25, the final tram up will leave at 9 p.m., with the last tram down at 10:30 p.m. On Monday, May 26, service begins at 8 a.m. and ends with the final ride down at 9:30 p.m.
Visitors can also enjoy Guided Nature Walks every Sunday starting May 25. Led by State Park volunteers, the walks include the 1½-mile Desert View Trail at 11 a.m. and the ¾-mile Long Valley Nature Trail at 1:30 p.m. No registration is required, and participation is free with Tramway admission.
