Palm Springs Burglary Suspect Scheduled For Arraignment

He is being held at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on $50,000 bail on suspicion of second-degree burglary and other charges.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — A 46-year-old Indio man suspected of burglarizing a Palm Springs business is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Duane Blunt is expected to enter pleas Friday to multiple charges at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, according to inmate records.

Palm Springs Police Department officers received a report of a business establishment's alarm being activated in the 600 block of S. Palm Canyon Drive shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, according to a statement from the department.

The alarm company notified officers of an alleged forced entry into the property and a suspect visibly inside, officers said.

While surveying the area, officers found and arrested Blunt after believing him to be the suspect, according to the statement. He was allegedly in possession of a controlled substance during the arrest.

Blunt was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio on $50,000 bail on suspicion of second-degree burglary, probation violation and possession of a controlled substance, officers said.

Officers did not specify what they claimed was taken or intended to be taken.
