Palm Springs Festival Of Lights Parade, Holiday Tree Lighting: 2024
First, the tree lighting, then the parade! Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Turner Classic Movies host Dave Karger will be grand marshals.
PALM SPRINGS, CA - The city of Palm Springs Wednesday announced featured guests and other details about the upcoming Festival of Lights Parade and Holiday Tree Lighting celebration.
The city's festivities are set to begin Dec. 6 as Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein will be among those convening at the 22-foot tree in Frances Stevens Park.
A meet-and-greet with Santa Claus, who will be lighting the tree, is scheduled before the main event.

On the following day, former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum and Turner Classic Movies host Dave Karger will lead the aforementioned parade as celebrity grand marshals.
The procession will start down Palm Canyon Drive at 5:45 p.m.

Style expert Kelly Golightly will be joined by two figures in the hockey world -- six-time NHL All-Star Grant Fuhr and Coachella Valley Firebirds broadcaster Gino LaMont -- as community grand marshals. "Twin Peaks" and "Riverdale" actress Mädchen Amick will serve as the honorary grand marshal.
Journalist Hank Plante was announced as the event's emcee, introducing four special performers on the day. The parade will be broadcast on NBC Palm Springs beginning at 6 p.m.
"Palm Springs is the perfect place to celebrate the magic of the holidays, and we can't wait to welcome the amazing Grand Marshals Dave Karger, Matt Sorum, Kelly Golightly, Gino LaMont and Grant Fuhr to Palm Canyon Drive," Bernstein said in a statement. "It's a celebration that's truly like no place else."
