Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Desert Hot Springs
A woman died in the roadway of this Desert Hot Springs intersection, police say.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — A pedestrian died Monday after being struck by a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs, police said.
The Desert Hot Springs Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision at around 5 a.m. Monday in the Palm Drive area, south of Varner Road, according to a department statement.
Officers found a woman in the roadway, but life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Preliminary information indicated the pedestrian was in the roadway at the time of the crash, according to the department. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said.
The victim's identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
