Photos: Coachella Day 1 Brings New Guest Performances, Cooler Weather
The second weekend of CA's biggest fest welcomed hundreds of thousands of festival-goers into the Empire Polo club Friday.

PALM DESERT, CA — The music industry's biggest names hit desert stages yesterday as Coachella weekend 2 officially kicked off, bringing hundreds of festival goers to the Empire Polo club grounds.
The day was full of surprises and some let-downs, including singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs and DJ Satori having to forgo the weekend festivities for COVID-19, according to ABC7. The day never passed 80 degrees, but attendees still have 90 degree temperatures ahead.
Harry Styles closed out the night with a long and predictably grand set, dressed in a bright pink and silver cowboy costume with the letters 'H' and 'S' on the butt of his shiny pants. The headliner brought out Lizzo as his special guest, who sang 'I Will Survive' and 'That's What Makes You Beautiful' with Styles.

An eager crowd waited to see if Daniel Caesar would bring Justin Bieber out once again to perform 'Peaches,' but the singer instead brought out Omar Apollo. Apollo also did his own set earlier in the day.
Phoebe Bridgers performed in her normal enchanting style with the help of singer Arlo Parks.
