Postal Worker Robbed At Gunpoint In Cathedral City, Suspect Sought

U.S. Postal Service worker, who claimed a man approached him brandishing the pistol grip of a handgun as he was mid-delivery.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — Police in Cathedral City are searching for a suspect who allegedly stole the keys to a mail carrier's truck at gunpoint, authorities said Tuesday.

The Cathedral City Police Department received a report of the robbery in the 30400 block of Avenida Los Ninos shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, the department said Tuesday.

Arriving officers spoke with the U.S. Postal Service worker, who claimed a man approached him brandishing the pistol grip of a handgun as he was mid-delivery.

The suspect demanded the keys and drove off in a black SUV after receiving them, the department said. CCPD officers have already obtained surveillance video and spoken with nearby residents, they said.
