Protest Sparked At Rep. Ken Calvert's Palm Desert Office
Representatives from several Coachella Valley committees on human rights, political accountability and political organizing were expected.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Organizers from several Coachella Valley organizations planned a protest during a demonstration Wednesday against President Donald Trump's policies at the Palm Desert office of Rep. Ken Calvert, R- Corona.
The event is an offshoot of a nationwide protest, the "50501 Movement" ("50 states, 50 protests, 1 day"), during which other protests against the Trump administration will occur at government buildings and landmarks across the country.
Protesters are scheduled to gather at noon Wednesday, simultaneous with a demonstration at the State Capitol Building in Sacramento.
