'Public Power Week' Scheduled For Imperial Irrigation District Customers

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Imperial Irrigation District customers will have the opportunity to learn more about programs and services from district officials and a double-rebate incentive will be promoted during Public Power Week next month in La Quinta.

"Public Power Week is our opportunity to engage with our valued customers, sharing information on our many beneficial programs that support families and our communities," Power Department Manager Matt Smelser said in a statement. "We'd also take this time to offer the double-rebate incentive, encouraging customers to take advantage of the opportunities to reduce energy demand, benefiting both them and the environment."

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 7 at IID's La Quinta office located at 81-600 Avenue 58, officials said.

Under the double-rebate incentive, the agency will double the rebate value it pays customers after applying for their Energy Reward Program during the entire month of October. The rebates can be issued for qualified appliances, air-conditioning systems, thermostats, variable-speed pool pumps and other items purchased this year.
