Missing Palm Desert Couple Located After Full Day's Search

The Palm Desert couple was found late Thursday, officials say.

PALM DESERT, CA — A Riverside County couple, last seen in their red Mercedes in Palm Desert and sought across Southern California, were located Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m., officials say.

No other information about them was shared, as is typical in a missing persons case.

The 88-year-old man and his 76-year-old wife were both reported missing after they were last seen Wednesday in the Palm Desert area. CHP issued a Silver Alert for the pair. Riverside County Sheriff's Department was aware of the missing couple, Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez confirmed with Patch.

The California Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert that went out in Riverside, San Diego, Los Angeles, Imperial, and Orange counties.

The CHP established the Silver Alert program to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
