RV Catches Fire In Coachella Neighborhood

One person suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a trauma center for further treatment.

COACHELLA, CA — Firefighters contained a fire inside an RV that extended to a nearby residential structure and injured a person Tuesday in Coachella.

The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday in the 84700 block of Avenue 53, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

One person suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a trauma center for further treatment.

The structure sustained moderate damage but no one was displaced from the residence, officials said.

Crews contained the fire approximately 30 minutes after their arrival, and expected to remain at the scene for an additional three hours for overhaul, officials said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
