Semi Truck Debris Scatters Across I-10 After Crash

CACTUS CITY, CA — A collision between an 18-wheeler and pickup truck on eastbound Interstate 10 Wednesday blocked the slow lane and left significant debris on the roadway.

The crash occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m. Wednesday near Mile Marker 71, about halfway between Indio and Chiriaco Summit, according to California Highway Patrol records.

Multiple CHP units and an ambulance were called to the scene within minutes.

CHP records note that after both vehicles pulled over to the right shoulder, "major side damage" was evident on the pickup truck. The slow lane remained blocked as of 11 a.m.

The injury status of both drivers was unclear.
